This looks like a blog post draft about Kibbe body types and hair recommendations. Fair warning. What would you like me to do with it? Edit it, reformat it, convert it to a different format, or something else?
Editor’s Note
Eight years in and the comment I still see most often isn’t “which cut should I get” — it’s “but I have curly hair, does this still apply?” Yes, and honestly curly or wavy texture makes the graphic quality of gamine kibbe hair *easier* to achieve, not harder, because the shape holds itself without product-sculpting every morning. What surprises me more, looking at our 68 gamine reports, is how consistently “graphic and playful” lands as the dominant theme — 28% of reports cluster there — yet the cuts women arrive with are almost always soft and layered, as if they’ve been dressing a different type entirely for years. Which makes me wonder: when you finally tried something sharper, what was the reaction from people who’ve known you longest?
Okay so I’ve been lurking on this site for months trying to figure out my type and this finally clicked for me! I’m in Nashville and literally have a hair appointment Thursday — I just texted my stylist a screenshot of this. My main takeaway is asking for texture over length, because I kept thinking I needed to go shorter when really it’s about that piecy, lived-in quality. One question though: does this apply if your hair is naturally wavy, or is that a whole diffrent situation?
