This looks like a blog post or article draft, not a software engineering task. What would you like me to do with it?
Editor’s Note
Eight years of running this platform and the photo submission question still generates more back-and-forth in the comments than almost anything else — which tells me the anxiety around “doing it right” runs deeper than the technical logistics. Here’s what I’ve noticed: the women who agonize most over their quiz photos are often the same ones who’ve already been typed and retyped across three different forums. The photo isn’t really the obstacle. What I keep wondering, and what I don’t think we talk about enough, is whether the pressure to produce the “perfect” reference image is actually a way of postponing the moment when you have to sit with a result that challenges how you’ve always seen yourself — so what do you think is really making you hesitate?
Okay so I literally just retook my quiz photos after reading this and the difference is *wild* — I’d been using a mirror selfie this whole time thinking it counted?? I’m in Nashville and my bathroom lighting was absolutely lying to me lol. The tip about standing naturally instead of posing is what I’m taking with me. I always suck in without realizing it and that’s been throwing off my whole silhouette. Quick question though — does the background color actually matter or is that more of a minor thing?
