I don’t see a specific task or question here — you’ve shared a draft article about the Kibbe body type system. What would you like me to do with it?
Editor’s Note
Eight years of watching this conversation unfold, and the thing that still catches me off guard is how often people land on a type that technically “fits” their measurements — and then quietly abandon it because it doesn’t match how they see themselves. That tension is the real heart of the kibbe system, and David Kibbe himself has always been more interested in that psychological layer than the geometry. The yin/yang framework was never meant to be a sorting hat; it was meant to be a mirror. Which makes me genuinely curious: when you found your type, did it feel like recognition — or did part of you resist it, and if so, what exactly were you protecting?
Okay so I went down a serious rabbit hole after reading this — pulled out old photos from my college years to compare my bone structure versus my flesh. Living in Nashville where everyone’s got a “look” for the country music scene, I’ve been dressing totally wrong for my type probably for years lol. My concrete plan is to stop buying those boxy blazers that I keep thinking will look cool and actually lean into my natural lines instead. Anyone else find the ID vs SD distinction the most confusing??
