Sloped Shoulders and Kibbe: Which Body Types Have Them?

This looks like a blog post about Kibbe body types and sloped shoulders. Same story. What would you like me to do with it? Edit it, convert it to a different format, implement it in code, or something else?

Editor’s Note

One thing I’ve noticed after years of watching women apply this framework: the fixation on sloped shoulders often becomes a distraction from the actual goal, which is harmony, not correction. I see it constantly in the comments — someone convinced their shoulders are the defining feature of their type when Kibbe himself has said repeatedly that no single feature determines placement. Shoulders read differently depending on bone structure, flesh, and even posture, which means two women with nearly identical shoulder slope can land in completely different types. The real question worth sitting with isn’t “do I have sloped shoulders?” but rather — what does your *overall* silhouette ask for, and are you listening to that instead of hunting for a flaw to fix?

  1. Okay this is blowing my mind a little?? I’ve been dressing “wrong” for years because I kept assuming sloped shoulders meant I needed structure to compensate. I’m in Minneapolis and literally just donated a bunch of boxy blazers last month — too soon lol. My takeaway is to stop fighting my natural shoulder line and instead lean into draped, softer fabrics. Quick question though: does slope severity matter, like is there a point where it becomes a different Kibbe consideration entirely?
