What would you like me to do with this draft?
Editor’s Note
Eight years of doing this, and the comment I see most often isn’t “I got Romantic” or “I’m definitely a Dramatic Classic” — it’s “I retested three times and got three different answers.” That tells me something the test itself won’t: most people aren’t misreading their bodies, they’re misreading the *language*. Words like “blunt,” “taut,” and “fleshy” carry so much personal baggage that they short-circuit honest observation before you even get to the pictures. The images help, but they can’t fully override the emotional static we bring to self-assessment. Which makes me genuinely curious — when you looked at those reference photos, were you seeing your actual lines, or were you seeing who you want to be?
Okay so I literally did this test three times because I kept second-guessing my bone structure — classic overthinker move. I’m in Seattle where it’s always overcast, so I finally just used my bathroom mirror with a ring light and it actually worked! The part about looking at the WIDTH vs. LENGTH of your features was my “ohh” moment. I’m going to try the yin/yang breakdown on my jawline specifically before I go shopping this weekend. Do you have a follow-up post on dressing for Soft Dramatics?
